Using the CorPath platform, Dr. Tejas Patel prepares for the first-in-human
telestenting procedure in Gujarat, India.
Using a series of joysticks and touchscreen controls, Dr. Tejas Patel manipulates interventional devices to perform the remote procedure on a patient located 20 miles away at the Apex Heart Institute.
Dr. Patel, seated in the Akshardham Temple, is able to see and communicate with the Apex Heart Institute lab staff and monitor the patient’s vitals using a telecommunications system.
Following completion of the first-in-human telerobotic intervention, Dr. Patel, along with Corindus staff and Indian dignitaries, conduct a press conference to discuss the significant milestone of remote intervention.
